Share the fun

Home cooks, kitchen pros, and everyone in between love the Ninja Professional Blender. It’s one of the highest rated blenders in the market!

And you might be interested in knowing how to wash it.

If that is true, this article is for you.

The matter of the need to know about washing recommendations for a blender is obvious. But as a current or prospective Ninja blender owner, you may be wondering: is the Ninja blender dishwasher safe?

Let’s talk about why we love Ninja blenders first, get to safety talk after that and review some top rated Ninjas out in the market.

Yes, we love our blenders.

From smoothies to frothy milkshakes, pureed soups to salad dressings, your blender is your best friend. A blender is the magic appliance you can use for mixing, emulsifying, liquefying, pureeing, and whipping.

And of course you have plenty of options to choose from.

Besides blending, controlled processing, ice crushing, and pureeing, Ninja blenders have a unique blending feature. Unlike many blenders, Ninja blender blades are stacked. If you are military hardware savvy, these blenders are like a reversed rotor chopper.

This means the food is pulverized rather than chopped.

Users should just read the use instructions for more safety and an extended appliance life.

With all these cool functions come issues related to washing these machines. Let's talk about them.

When to Use the Dishwasher

If you want to use a dishwasher to clean the Ninja Blender, ensure it is unplugged.

Disassemble it by taking off the lid. Twist off the pitcher and unsnap the blades. If you want to prevent damage to the lids, put it on the top rack.

The blade assemblies, lids, cups, and pitcher are dishwasher safe. The cups and pitcher can be put on any rack.

It is advisable to put the blade assemblies and lids on the top rack of the dishwasher. The lids, cups, and pitcher should not be exposed to very high temperatures.

The only blender part that cannot be washed in the dishwasher is the base. Avoid submerging it in water as it obviously contains non-water-resistant electrical components.

Instead, wipe the outside of the base with cleaning solvent.

Blender Care

Unfortunately, all the cool bells and whistles can also make cleaning the blender a little bit difficult.

If you don’t want your blender’s performance to suffer over time, clean it thoroughly after every use. Crevices and cracks of your machine can often hold bits of food residue for a long time.

This is especially true if the blender has small parts. So, what’s the best way to take care of your Ninja blender, or any type of blender?

To get the most life out of your blender, first soak dishwasher-safe parts in soapy water before putting them in the dishwasher.

This helps remove all food residue. Even the hard-to-reach bits! After a good soak, you’re ready to wash your blender in the dishwasher.

If parts are not dishwasher safe, you can always hand-wash or wipe them down with cleaning solvent. Always make sure to dry each part of your blender after cleaning to prevent extra wear.

Washing the Blender's Blades

Avoid putting the blender in the dishwasher with the blades still attached. The blades get dull if they are repeatedly washed in the dishwasher.

If you put the blades along with the blender they may bang with other things in the dishwasher. This can cause mechanical edge damage and affect the performance of the blades.

Prolonged heating at high temperatures can also damage the blades.

Even though the blades are made of stainless steel they are susceptible to rust and corrosion if washed frequently in the dishwasher.

The other problem of putting the blades in the dishwasher is that they are lightweight and can come out of side bays in the dishwasher.

The blades can get lodged in the bottom and this can jam the dishwasher. Remove the blades that are stuck in the dishwasher carefully as they can easily cut your hands.

Instead, quickly soak the blades in soapy water and rinse before drying them thoroughly.

This is the safe and simple way to make sure your blades stay clean and precise. Just be careful when washing them by hand, as they are extremely sharp.

Adhere to Directions

As you learned, many Ninja blenders are dishwasher safe. However, instructions can vary for different models.

It is important to adhere to directions of the manufacturer when washing the Ninja blender. Instructions about detergents, temperatures, and racks to be used are given in the manual. These instructions need to be followed to prevent damage to the blender.

Different types of blenders have different cleaning needs and you need to be aware about them.

Following instructions helps you clean your Ninja blender in a safe and thorough manner.  If you follow all the instructions given in the manual about washing the blender in the dishwasher, you will be able to use it efficiently for many years.

In general, you need to pre-rinse or even soak all parts of the blender before putting them in the dishwasher. This ensures that all small food particles are removed.

Check the blender after washing it in the dishwasher to ensure that it is really clean, and always thoroughly dry each piece before storing.

The dishwasher enables you to clean the Ninja blender without getting your hands dirty.

  1. Do NOT put this inferior product into the dishwasher. I used the top rack and on a regular cleaning cycle. It melted the lid and it will no longer fit into the blender.
I will never buy another SharkNinja product.
