Is the Black & Decker Food Processor Good?

Share the fun

When it comes to kitchen appliances, people tend to worry most about blenders, beaters, graters, even the trendy new air fryers. Yet, there is one device that is dreadfully underrated and that is the food processor.

Need to grate your cheese for homemade pizza?

You got it.

Grind meat for your burgers?

No problem.

Blend fruit for your breakfast smoothie?

Delicious.

How about preparing frozen margaritas for your Saturday night get-together?

You name it!

Whatever it is you need, a good food processor can achieve it more quickly and efficiently than other kitchen devices. Plus, they can help you achieve any weight loss goals you may have!

Which leads me to my next point:

How to Choose Your Food Processor?

Now, I know it can be confusing to choose a single food processor out of the hundreds of brands and models out there. Options on the market include Cuisinart, KitchenAid, or my personal favorite, Black & Decker.

The Black & Decker food processor beats and outperforms every other processor out there in terms of:

  1. Price
  2. Durability
  3. Versatility
  4. Functionality

I'll be developing each of these points down below.

So let's get down to business with the question you're here for.

Is the Black & Decker Food Processor Good?

Absolutely! The Black & Decker food processor is extremely functional.

It happens to be one of the most affordable food processors on the market. Also, it's easy to assemble, clean, and store, and most importantly, its performance is immaculate. About as good, or maybe even better than some of those top-of-the-line expensive fancy processors you can find out there.

With a motor capacity of 450 Watts, the Black & Decker is quite powerful for such a little thing. Its body is black and see-through plastic while its blades are stainless steel. The whole thing weighs around 2.8 kilograms and it includes a reversible slicing disc, the blades, the cup, and of course the motor.

But now onto the good stuff…

Nobody can deny that when buying a product you look for affordable options, a balance between cost and quality.

Well, this little machine cost me thirty five dollars with a two-year warranty.

That's right, THIRTY FIVE.

However, prices may vary, here’s a list of the Top 3 bestsellers items from Amazon.

You must be thinking that for a price so low, this device must be a piece of garbage. Especially considering that those other fancy processors cost hundreds of dollars, right?

Wrong.

I bought my Black & Decker around three and a half years ago, and so far so good. I haven't encountered a single setback with it and it's working as smoothly as ever. Besides this, it's extremely easy to use, just connect it and throw in whatever you want to process.

It will process just about anything, from fruits and vegetables to nuts, even for ice and frozen goods it does the trick!

With this I have made peanut butter, tomato sauce, grated cheese, oat flour, pie crust, cookie dough, smoothies, and hazelnut spread. Just to name a few.

One thing to keep in mind though is that while this is a great appliance, it doesn't work miracles. If you're a chef, cook, or someone who has a very specific need, like let's say paper-thin sliced onions, then this probably isn't the device for you.

This machine is for an ordinary kitchen, where no one will tell the difference (and let's be honest, most of us won't).

Next up, maintenance.

The Black & Decker processor is extremely easy to keep up. Some of the other processors contain hard to reach nooks and crannies, where food gets stuck and it's impossible to reach. That's not the case with Black & Decker. It is free of these annoying spaces and cleaning it takes all but five minutes.

And finally, visual appearance. Shiny black body, rounded edges, transparent plastic cup, and stainless steel blades. The Black & Decker will give your kitchen a sophisticated and way-more-expensive-than-it-actually-is look.

This appliance measures only 26.3 x 20.4 x 38 centimeters, making it portable and easy to store, unlike some of those other big and chunky ones.

With this, you'll be whipping up sliced, chopped or shredded ingredients you can use to impress friends and family with delicious meals.

A Quick Step-by-Step Using the Black & Decker Food Processor.

I've already written quite a bit on what this processor can do. However, I'm aware some of you might like to see visual proof of its usefulness.

So I went ahead and photographed the process of me preparing one of my favorite healthy snacks. In this section, I'll use the grater built into the slicing disc to make grated carrots with lemon and salt.

So first and foremost, I made sure the machine was clean and ready to use.

Once that was out of the way, I washed and peeled my carrot (Sorry, the Black & Decker is good, but it's not magic and it won't do that for you!).

Inserting carrot into the machine's feed tube

As soon as the carrot was ready, I inserted it into the machine's feed tube and turned it on. I pushed the carrot down as the slicer spun until it was completely consumed.

It's worth mentioning:

It doesn't leave any chunks of unsliced carrot — or whatever you're chopping — stuck on top of the slicing disk. (This is something that's very annoying to me about other processors.)

Finally, I obtained a perfectly chopped carrot, with no unevenly sliced chunks, ready to add freshly-squeezed lemon juice and salt and enjoy.

And of course, I washed right after use in only five minutes and I was free to devour my healthy snack.
